Where is My Tax Refund?

where is my tax refundThe most recent $1,400 stimulus payment has interrupted the IRS’s processing of tax refunds. Like last year, many people wondering "where is my tax refund?" can expect a delay in their Federal Refunds, which is creating worry and concern for many. Thankfully, there are a few options to find out when you can expect your tax refund.

Where is My Tax Refund? Check Your Refund Status Now!

The IRS website provides an easy way to lookup the status of your tax refund. Go to IRS website and click on “Check my Refund Status.” You’ll need your social security number, filing status (e.g. Single filer, married filing jointly, head of household, etc) and tax refund amount.  Click “submit” to receive information on the status of your refund.  If there is no information available to you there, you can also call the IRS at 1-800-829-1954, but expect to wait on the phone for a while.

Are There Other Options Available?

In addition to the IRS website, there are also apps that you can download on your phone to get your tax refund status. IRS2GO is the official IRS App to get this information. You can also use the TurboTax app and the “Where’s My Refund” app.
